About the Steel Plates of Jack Group
YJack group can be assembled without the top and bottom steel plates, or with the plates (the same as O-Cell).
It would bring respective advantages and disadvantages whether using the plates.

With steel plates

Advantages: Steel plate with enough thickness enlarges force bearing area to decrease the pressure and improve the loading safety. Besides that, the steel plate would keep the load on the jack group stands still in vertical for a short while even though the part of the pile had broken. It is often used for load test on pile bottom.
Disadvantages: The steel plates will occupy the space for flow diversion and block the sediments on the pile bottom below the jack group and between the plates. That surely impacts the constituents of concrete, decrease the strength of pile body and cause future troubles to the process of pile loading and bearing.

Without steel plates

YJack Advantages: Enable assembling a Jack group with pieces of reinforcing steel bar instead of top and bottom steel plates. Thus, it provides much more space among the jacks unclog the sediments that flowing upwards throughout the jack group during concrete grouting. This ensures the correct constituents, strength and safety of the pile loading process.
Disadvantages: Conical flow deflector causes horizontal components to the outer side of the jack group as loading, while the pile is likely to rupture outwards if the jack is too near to the lateral wall of any pile hole. We are able to avoid this trouble with such as: positioning the jacks more centrally when assembling the jack group; or hooping the reinforcing steel cages with tension sleeves for enough horizontal confining stress.
